Weather
Sitka's weather can be very unpredictable so it's best to layer clothing with a short sleeve shirt, a sweater and a light waterproof jacket (Sitka is located in the Tongass National Rainforest and receives approximately 95 inches of precipitation annually). Average daily high temperatures range from 61°F in July to 37.5°F in December. You can easily add or peel layers depending on weather changes or your activity. Comfortable, weather resistant walking shoes are a must year-round!
