Yacht Charter Information |
|
Sergius Narrows, a narrow waterway in the southern portion of Peril Straits, is a 30-mile long waterway from and to Sitka, between Baranof and Chichagof islands. This narrow, twisting course is about 300 feet wide and has a 9 to 10 mile per hour rushing tide. Thus, charter yachts pass through during a slack tide, or when the water is between high and low tides.
Sergius Narrows feeds Kakul Narrows, Salsbury Sound and the Pacific before narrowing through to Neva and Olga Straits which leads to and from Sitka. This exciting passage is dotted with serene forested islands where yacht charter visitors have a great opportunity to see bald eagles, black-tailed deer and the occasional sea otter floating around kelp beds and the rocky shoreline. |
