Asia and the Asia Pacific charter destinations span thousands of ocean miles, and include countless diverse and exotic cultures, each beckoning with the glitter, spice, romance and history of the Far East. Consider the Banda Islands in Indonesia, historic home of the East Indies Trading Company and nutmeg, Myanmar, once known as Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, Bali, and the Andaman Islands. Weeks of discovery cruising are available in this destination, which would only scratch the surface of this culturally diverse area.
On the eastern side of this cruising area, Irina Jaya is home to 250 indigenous tribes, many of whom continue to live virtually untouched by outside civilizations. The Asmat people live along the southeastern shore, and are most easily visited by yacht charter, as the shoreline, while beautiful with crystal clear waters, has miles of impenetrable jungles leading into the interior. Known for their primitive wood carvings, this area is just beginning to be reached by modern civilization.
Off of the coast of Bali in the Suva Sea is the Komodo Archipelago. A dry climate with barren mineral laden hills rising out of blue waters, striated in various shades of red, brown and copper, this is the home of the Komodo Dragon, surviving here isolated since prehistoric times. Komodo Island Wilderness Park is now a UNESCO World Heritage site, and park rangers are on hand for a guided hike through the only known home of the infamous Komodo Dragon.
The tinkling bells of the temples in Thailand draw visitors to cruise the shores and the many beautiful green islands. Here rock structures tower in single or multiple monoliths, surrounded in some areas by emerald green waters. There are thousands of miles of coastline and thousands of islands in Thailand alone with a tropical environment and balmy breezes throughout the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand.
And throughout Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific, including Myanmar, ex-Burma, is world class scuba diving and snorkeling in crystal clear waters in varying shades of blue and green, along with miles of pristine white beaches littered with huge seashells, which is a shelling paradise.
Included as well is a diverse cuisine of varying flavors and tastes throughout the area. And shop for mementos and souvenirs from village handicrafts to artisan pieces, antiques and rain forest hardwood furniture, a multitude of brass and bronze items and beautiful hand printed fabrics of all types and shimmering shades of silk.

Sample Southeast Asia Itinerary from Phuket Thailand
Day 1: Board your yacht at Yacht Haven Marina in Phuket and set out immediately for Koh Hong, a group of nearby islands. Pelay Beach in Ho Hong is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area with miles of white sand and great snorkeling. This island group is limestone based, with large caves worn in to this soft stone. In the interior of Koh Hong, is a large lake, reachable by dinghy through a cave when the tide is high. With the end reward a swim in the warm crystal clear lake waters only about one meter deep. Watch bird nests for Bird Nest Soup being harvested from these islands by young local men that shimmy up the tall bamboo in pursuit of their income.

Exploring Caves
Day 2: Ko Yao Yai and Ko Yao Noi are a pair of large islands in the middle of Phang Nga Bay. More developed than many of the other islands in this archipelago, the island of Ko Yao Noir is worth a drive around the road that circles the island to watch the water buffalos taking mud baths in the rice paddies and pass under the shade of the rubber plantations. Take a sea kayak to explore along the coastline and beaches of these islands.

Phang Nga Bay
Day 3: Cruise towards Krabi and anchor at Raleigh Beach. There are amazing limestone cliffs along the beach area lapped by a blue green warm sea. This is a rock climber paradise and rock climbing is offered in this beach area for even the very beginner, just for a taste of the giddy heights of this sport.

Day 4: Depart for the Phi Phi Islands. Many feel that these are the nicest islands in the world and you will certainly see why. Constantly used for scenic background in movies, sheer cliffs rise up out of the jungle bordered in front by long sandy beaches. This is a snorkeling and diving paradise and the island of Phi Phi Lei is completely uninhabited. Don’t forget to put time aside for beach strolling and shelling in this tiny spot of picture perfect paradise.

Day 5: Cruise to Similan National Park with miles of fine white sand beaches. However it is what lies beneath the sea that is the big draw in this area, as in the National Park area is a coral ecosystem commonly called the rainforest of the sea and considered by many to be one of the top diving locations in the world. And of course, the snorkeling is also superb.

Coral Islands
Day 6: Head over to the Surin Islands, home of many of the traditional villages where fishing is the main industry. The huge amount of fish in these waters makes this a great location for those interested in sport game fishing. The island of Surin Nuea is now home to a little over 100 Moken Sea Gypsies who have quasi settled on this island, living on the shores in their home made boats called “Kabang”. The famed Richelieu Rock, a coral pinnacle for divers is located in these islands, and home to a large number of whale sharks.
