Sea Turtle Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park
Naturalists, or just plain nature lovers, are drawn to The Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park with its pristine beauty, outstanding anchorages and transparent waters teeming with colorful coral and fish. Most of the cays in the park are private, including Warderick Wells. The Exuma Park was created in 1985 as a protected replenishment zone and as such all fishing is prohibited with its boundaries. Unique wildlife roam within the park and include The Hutia, the only terrestrial mammal native to The Bahamas, iguanas, sea turtles and a variety of nesting birds. However, the rarest living creatures in the Park are the stromatolites, blue-green, reef forming algae. The stromatolite reefs are the oldest evidence of life on earth. Some fossil stromatolites date back to 3.5 billion years!

Warderick Wells Cay
Warderick Wells Cay has four miles of nature trails and is said to be haunted by spirits from a slave ship. A ranger station, located on the northwest side of the cay, provides trail maps.
