Highbourne Cay
The Exumas, situated in the middle of The Bahamas, is a chain of more than 365 cays and islands stretching over 120 miles and culminating at the southern end by the two main islands of Great Exuma and Little Exuma. The chain has pristine reefs, long stretches of stunning pink and white beaches and excellent anchorages. The area, home to the Caribbean’s first marine fishery reserve, is home to the 176-square mile Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, the world’s first land and sear area designated as a national park. Most of the cays are uninhabited, offering privacy and pristine nature.

Highbourne Cay is the northernmost populated island in the chain. It was once used by the British to settle slaves from illegal slavers. Today, it’s the home of a small marina. Hike to the only so-called spring in the Bahamas or snorkel the clear waters. Divers can explore the The Exuma Wall, a vertical 75 foot deep drop-off directly off Highbourne Cay. The area is also the resting place of wrecks including The Edwin Williams, a 95-food vessel sitting perfectly upright in 55 feet of water off Highbourne Cay.
