Cuttyhunk

Isolated, quiet Cuttyhunk, a top charter yacht destination, lies 12 miles south of New Bedford and a mere 8 miles west of Martha’s Vineyard.

Its small size of less than 10 square miles and tiny beach attracts charter yachts and visitors who enjoy solitude. Cuttyhunk is part of the Elizabeth Islands chain. All Elizabeth Islands except Cuttyhunk and Penikese are privately owned by the Forbes family.

Cuttyhunk does offer a great harbor, good fishing, a few dozen homes belonging to mostly seasonal residents, and beautiful hiking trails. Although there are a couple of small restaurants, there are no bars and shopping opportunities are limited.
