Quiet, serene Mustique
The exclusive island of Mustique is a 1400 acre private island owned and operated by a shareholder owned company with members from 17 countries who are dedicated in protecting the island’s pristine natural beauty and privacy. The island’s 18th century cotton and sugar plantations have been replaced with magnificent villas hidden along its shoreline and hills and a luxury resort, Cotton House, with 20 rooms. There is only one, small Guest House, the elegant Fire Fly. Visitors are drawn to the island’s private, unspoiled lifestyle, and the peaceful ambiance. Many of the roads are unpaved, all the power lines are buried and the minimal traffic and non-commercial feel to the island gives visitors the seclusion they crave. Seven gorgeous beaches embellish the island with lots of spots to snorkel, fish, or swim.
You won't find many shops in Mustique although there are a couple of small boutiques. There's one little town with one bar and restaurant, the famous "Basil's Bar & Restaurant". Basil’s, which has a boutique, is a famous gathering spot for cocktails, fine food, dancing, and a yearly blues festival.
