Seahawk; Southern Pig Roast Hospitality

Capt. Robert Edgar at the Pig Roast
Capt. Robert Edgar at the Pig Roast

Welcoming hospitality is always a part of a charter on board the 87′ Little Harbor Sailing Yacht, Seahawk. Robert Edgar, the Captain of Seahawk hails from Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina and adds a touch of warm southern hospitality to the mix. Here in Newport, we all had a taste of this hospitality, when Robert and the rest of the crew of Seahawk treated us all to a true Southern Pig Roast, before they sailed out of Newport Harbor for the winter season in the Caribbean. Sailing on Signe in Newport Harbor

Northrop and Johnson Sailing on S/Y SIGNE
Northrop and Johnson Sailing on S/Y SIGNE

September is one of the nicest times to sail out of Newport, Rhode Island, as the weather is still warm, the water warmer, and the air crisp and clear. Northrop and Johnson Yacht Charters was invited on an afternoon sail on Signe, the 115′ Renaissance Sailing Yacht designed by Bruce King and built in Maine. This lovely ketch with a wood composite hull is a modern statement to the classic elegance of the traditional wooden hulled sailing yacht with a beautiful wood interior, full teak decks, brass fittings and lots of varnish. Built for 6 guests in 3 guest staterooms, each with ensuite bath, Signe has spent the summer chartering in New England and is set to sail to the Caribbean this winter and available for charter in these warm tropical breezes. Antigua Yacht Charter Show: Featuring Yachts; Darling, Windrose, Tiara

Visit the Northrop and Johnson Yacht Charter Website

Today is day 2 of the Antigua Yacht Charter Show, a show for yacht charter brokers in the crewed yacht charter industry.

Although a bit rainy in Antigua, the show is moving ahead at full force.
