Yacht Charter; Marmaris Yacht Charter Festival 2012

Marmaris, Turkey - Gulet Fleet

Yacht charter in Turkey along the beautiful Turquoise Coast for the Blue Voyage is alive and well with more great crewed yacht charter choices than ever. With 58 crewed charter sailing, motor yachts and Gulets lined up along the main quay in Marmaris, Northrop and Johnson Yacht Charters is hard at work reviewing and inspecting the various crewed charter yachts and Gulets available for charter. As usual the quality of the luxury Gulet constantly improves along with terrific crew, food and great crew service. Missy Johnston says, “We are very pleased with the quality of the crewed Turkish Gulets that we are seeing here at this show for this coming summer season for a yacht charter along the southern coast of Turkey, and for the first time there are at least 8 quality crewed motor yachts available for yacht charter”. The season is already busy here in Turkey with some of the yacht available for crewed yacht charter already booked for 10 to 12 weeks. With a long season from May to October, there is still plenty of time left though, on excellent options for a crewed yacht charter from which to enjoy the Turquoise Coast and some of the Greek Islands.

If you have trouble viewing this video please click here

On the last day of racing in the 2012 Heineken Regatta in February, the 100′ Nautor Swan Sailing Yacht, Virago, is shown in this video rounding the mark at Tintamarre in St. Martin on the race from Marigot to Simpson Bay. This was a sensation day of racing with 25 knot winds and 4 — 5′ seas, with Virago coming in 2nd in this race. Along with two firsts the two days before, Virago was the big Winner overall for the big boat division of the 32nd Heineken Regatta. Under charter by the winning competitors through Carolyn Titus at Northrop and Johnson Yacht Charters, a specialist Charter Broker in performance racing charters, this win by Virago proves that you too could charter a yacht and still come in First in a competitive worldwide yacht regatta.

Sailing on Signe in Newport Harbor

Northrop and Johnson Sailing on S/Y SIGNE
Northrop and Johnson Sailing on S/Y SIGNE

September is one of the nicest times to sail out of Newport, Rhode Island, as the weather is still warm, the water warmer, and the air crisp and clear. Northrop and Johnson Yacht Charters was invited on an afternoon sail on Signe, the 115′ Renaissance Sailing Yacht designed by Bruce King and built in Maine. This lovely ketch with a wood composite hull is a modern statement to the classic elegance of the traditional wooden hulled sailing yacht with a beautiful wood interior, full teak decks, brass fittings and lots of varnish. Built for 6 guests in 3 guest staterooms, each with ensuite bath, Signe has spent the summer chartering in New England and is set to sail to the Caribbean this winter and available for charter in these warm tropical breezes.
