The Balearic Islands consist of five islands off the coast of Spain: Menorca, Mallorca, Ibiza, Formentera, and the tiny island of Cabrera. Memorable and amazing adventures await, including all of the water-based delights. Snorkeling in the clear waters off of Mallorca will take you to another fascinating world. Of course, chartered yachts usually include other water sports toys, depending on the yacht, such as paddle boards, kayaks, and jetskis.

Ibiza Famous Sunset

Ibiza’s Famous Sunset

Ibiza Town in Spain is often thought of as just a port to stop in on your luxury yacht charter for a night of clubbing and dancing. But there’s actually a quieter and more traditional side of Ibiza worth exploring on a private yacht charter in the Balearic Islands. A large portion of Ibiza is actually a designated UNESCO World Heritage site, and there are many beautiful villages, beaches, and anchorages to explore.

Visit the Pink Lake and Natural Spa of Las Salinas de Torrevieja on Your Next Private Yacht Charter

Picturesque view of Las Salinas. Salt lake of Torrevieja

Las Salinas. Salt lake of Torrevieja

Tucked away in Valencia, Spain is the natural park of Las Salinas de Torrevieja—a gorgeous pink-water lake-one of the most impressive natural parks of Valencia, and not to be missed on a private yacht charter along the Spanish Costa del Azahar. The natural phenomenon of rose-tinted water is possible thanks to the archaeas (a micro-organism) and dunaliellas (micro-seaweeds) found in the lake giving the entire lake its pink-colored hue and the pink to the color of the feathers of the local lamingos that dine on these micro-organisms.. Adding to the “wow” factor are the huge mountains of salt piled high along the shore line gathered from the lake that has been sold for centuries.  Be sure to pick up some natural Torrevieja salt for yourself.

Ibiza, Balearic Islands, Spain

The Balearic isle of Ibiza is a play in contradictions. Renowned for the heady nightlife that doesn’t stop until the sun begins to rise, this is one of the best places on earth for good dance music and EDM. Visitors may be surprised, however, to find an easygoing family-friendly atmosphere here. It is an ideal place for a crewed yacht charter (not to mention sunny, festive, and gorgeous).

Ibiza boasts a long history of hippie culture dating back to the 1960s. You can find lovely markets selling all manner of Bohemian handmade arts and crafts. Head to the beaches for crystal-clear waters, or spend the day hiking or biking all over the island. There is shipwreck scuba diving and kayaking through sea caves and small inlets. Private yacht charter is truly the perfect vehicle for reaching the most remote, quiet corners of Ibiza. And don’t forget the rest of the Balearic Islands, all reachable on a private yacht charter starting in Ibiza, including Mallorca, Menorca, and Formentera. If you want to discover more than just the hot nightlife, this is another solid guide for first-time visitors. Bon voyage!

Harbor in Mallorca Spain

Beautiful Harbor in Mallorca, Spain

In the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, four islands beckon travelers to indulge in a sun-soaked Spanish adventure. Menorca, Mallorca, Ibiza, and Formentera are dream destinations for the private yacht charter enthusiast. Seeing the Balearics is on the bucket list of any sailors worth their salt; read more here about the world-famous regattas and picturesque ports.

For island-hopping in style, there is no better way to visit the Balearics than on your own private chartered yacht. Ibiza offers hedonistic pleasures with dancing from sundown to sunrise . . . but the rest of the island along with Menorca, Mallorca, and Formentera offer so much more. On Mallorca, select the catch of the day from smiling fishermen in the harbor and have it grilled to order in La Llotja, the old fish market in Old Town. Dance until dawn in Formentera and take a refreshing dip in an aqua cove before getting some rest.

Discover the International and Traditional Balearic Island of Ibiza

Ibiza Island Harbor

Known as the international jet set island and a place to stop on a crewed yacht charter in the port of Ibiza Town for nights out clubbing and dancing, the island of Ibiza also has a lovely traditional side waiting to be discovered on a crewed yacht charter of the Balearic Islands.  People have flocked to Ibiza for over 2500 years, with remains on the island from the Phoenicians, and much of Ibiza is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.  With the white cubist architecture of Ibiza Town reflecting in the bright sunlight and beautiful blue clear waters, Ibiza has been chosen as the setting for a number of movies and books.  All night clubbing until sunrise (new law requires all clubs to be closed by 6:00am), is one draw of Ibiza, however the beauty of the island and the traditional little villages, beaches, and many anchorages are another draw for a visit on a crewed yacht charter of the Balearic Islands.

Spain, Palma Bar Abaco, luxury yachts, luxury charter
Spain, Palma – Bar Abaco

Tucked away in Old Town Palma, behind the large brown doors of a centuries old villa, is the bar Abaco, a must stop visit during a yacht charter of the Spanish Balearic Islands. Visiting Abaco is not a bar stop, it is an experience all encased within the walls of a 16th century traditional Spanish manor house. Decorated in the Baroque style, Abaco is a true taste of historic Palma. You should explore every room while there, and see every over the top flower display. And be sure to be there at 12:00 midnight on Friday night, as at midnight, every Friday night, to a loud crescendo of classical music, rose petals cascade down from the cavernous ceiling over the fireplace for a fresh rose petal carpet on the floor. And where else in the world can you see that? (more…)
